Vinyasa Yoga and the classes I recommend for at home practice

If you started following during my last fitness series – Fit Bride Bootcamp – you might not know that previously I only did yoga. A big change if you’re used to seeing me in a gym with weights and posts about HITT and even PWR by Kelsey Wells.

After months of being uninspired at the gym and not being able to find anything that worked for me, I decided to go back to what I know… yoga.

Being out of practice, I didn’t want to sign up to any classes so I’ve been using the website Do Yoga With Me – and I love it! After some trial and error, I’ve found my favourite instructors and pretty much stick to those classes, however the website is a great tool and really has something for everyone.

My favourite Vinyasa Yoga classes for intermediate practice

Getting back into it like me but already have a foundation in power yoga?

I recommend Fiji McAlpine’s 14 day challenge. I’ve done it twice through now and I’ll probably do it another time before the end of the year.

Some of my other favourite Fiji classes are Yummy 30, Ignite Your Shakti, Happy Hamstrings, and Renewing Power in Flow: Twists.

My second favourite instructor is Tracey Noseworthy.

I do her ‘Release your inner hippie‘ class almost once a week. It’s a floor series and it feels so incredible on your hips, hamstrings and lower back. If you try one class – try this one. Stretch it out.

Beginner looking to start a Vinyasa Yoga practice?

The website has a number of true beginner classes. Fiji offers an introductory beginner class which really explains more common poses before ending with a flow series as you would in her intermediate classes. If Rich can do it – you can do it too.
