Combating Stress & Getting Your Frustration Out with FBB Month 4

This month has been incredibly stressful for me, like to the point of breaking at least three days a week, which is how we came up with this month’s Fit Bride Bootcamp theme – exercises to get your frustration out. And man did it.

I won’t go into detail about what we did – you can read the full post on FlexFit Dance – instead I’m going to share how I combated the stress outside the gym.

First, I started by throwing out my editorial calendar – which you can read about here – and then I followed that by putting my over scheduled Day Designer in my desk drawer and instead turned to bullet journaling.

Within my bullet journal, I decided to make a fitness/FBB tracker and included space to track my yoga practice. Every time I completed 20 minutes of yoga I got to colour in the day and I love colouring so it was super motivating. Ironically yoga is equally as stress relieving and something I’ve missed these last few months as most of my exercise time is taken up with FBB. But I’m finding a balance.

Another thing I learned with my bullet journal is that I had to prioritise my to do lists and figure out what the most important thing that day really was. This is something I brought over to my work life as well. At the beginning of each day, I write down my top 3 things I want to accomplish and if at the end of day they’re all checked off, it’s a successful day in my book. Considering there’s days where my to do has over 20 things on it, only having to think about three at a time has really reduced my stress level.

If you’ve already read FBB for this month you’ll know that I took a break from social media for a week and honestly it did help take some pressure off, but it’s not a long term fix. I have to be on social media both for L&L and for my day job so it’s not exactly realistic to cut it out completely. BUT it doesn’t mean you can’t set some limits – I’m trying to focus on it twice a day.
