Being on the road for the last three weeks has made us a little cut off from the rest of the world so I don’t have much to share in respects to what I’ve been reading and watching, thus a special edition of Weekend Reads as we’re on the last leg of our trip with only a few days left in Canada before we head back to Philadelphia to finish out the summer poolside.
EVERY COUPLE SHOULD ROAD TRIP | I read somewhere that every couple should do a road trip before getting married – I imagine this was to see if you could actually be in close quarters, navigate together, make decisions and compromises etc but honestly we haven’t had any issues. A lot people think we’re crazy saying they couldn’t possibly imagine being stuck in a little Civic with their partner and dog 24/7 for almost a month but we’re a great team and have made the most of our togetherness, knowing that very soon we’ll be back to long distance and will want these memories to get us through until next time we’re together.
KENDALL’S ADVENTURES | our trip in general isn’t the only ‘crazy stare’ we get – when people see Kendall in the car, out on our adventures or checking in with her own luggage we get quite a few of those looks. Overall Kendall has been an absolute champ and better than most children when we’re out. I love when people come up and give us compliments on her behaviour or her gentleness with children who run up to pet/pull on her at parks and she transitions from play to kid mode in seconds. Our highlight was definitely taking her to Niagara Falls because she was just SO happy by the sight of all the water (don’t worry she was no where near it).
WEDDING QUESTIONS | one of the main reasons for our trip was to check some wedding things off our list – which was VERY successful – I’m happy to say we’ve asked our entire bridal party to join us in our big day, we’ve found a venue, narrowed down dates and agreed on all the colours for the wedding – so many things can get accomplished when trapped in a car.
WHAT’S IN STORE AFTERWARDS | Rich will head back to London for work and I will begin looking for a part time job to occupy my time for the next year, in addition you’ll see a lot more fun projects on Lattes & Lipstick as I get back to my normal posting schedule and regular wi-fi (thank god). Rich and I will continue wedding planning long distance and after August 2017 will move back to London for at least a little while.
