There’s not a doubt in my mind that London is one of the best cities in the world but one of the great things about visiting this amazing city is all the other great places you can visit for the day. So whether you live in London and are looking for your nice city escape or visiting for longer than 4 days and want to explore, I’ve compiled my top 5 places you should check out on your next day trip out of London.
THE COTSWOLDS | they might be more unknown but they’re stunning, the little villages are all gorgeous and charming. Unless you have a car they can be a little difficult to navigate but if you book a full day tour in advance it’s an early train out of the city but well worth it in the end
BRIGHTON & BRIGHTON BEACH | the best fish and chips you’ll ever have is just an hour train hour away, but this is more a summer destination than winter as it can get very dark and grey
BATH | one of my favourite escapes from the city because it’s like stepping back into Georgian England where time slows down and the city feels years away – need help planning your trip? Read my Guide to Bath to get some ideas
EDINBURGH | want to see more of the U.K. than just England? With just a short flight in the morning and evening you can spend your day wandering cobblestones and castles
PARIS | is always a good idea and it’s such an easy trip from London thanks to the Eurostar and while you can’t see Paris in a day (give yourself 3-4 to do everything) you can definitely do a lot – don’t trust me check out what to do your first time in Paris
Do you like to take a day trips too? Where’s your favourite place to visit from London? Let me know in the comments!
