Once we settled on a date I was so eager to create our save the dates – I knew exactly what I wanted: rose gold foil pressed postcards. The question was where to find good quality for an affordable price.
I’d always seen Minted around but I’d never actually used them for anything but after about 5 minutes on there website I sold, everything was so simple and they had a bunch of rose gold foil options for me – so many in fact I sent SIX different options to my bridesmaids to help me decide. In the end, these were the clear winner and in a shocking twist I went with a black and white picture, which is not the norm for me – I LOVE color – but they looked so beautiful with the simple foil press. I did end up putting a little color picture with Kendall on the back along with our wedding website (thanks Minted!).
The overall process couldn’t have been simpler, originally the words cut across our heads (not ideal) so I simply made a note to the artist with my order and they sent me a new proof with the changes and bam I had my save the dates a week later.
You might be wondering why I wanted postcards – one because sending things internationally is expensive. Secondly, and most importantly, because I love to send postcards, I send them from all our travels and have quite the collection from all over and I wanted to have a special wedding one for my scrapbook. Postcards just felt like a nice little touch from two people who love to travel and are probably some of the last people to actually buy and send postcards in countries where we don’t speak the language and I mime like a crazy person to find a post office for stamps.
The two photos I used are from our engagement session with Jenn Stevenson Photography – see the rest of the session here, they’re even more gorgeous in full colour!
